Getting started and building an effective business listing.

Welcome to Business Search NZ, we have prepared some information to help you get started and set up your listing in an effective and inviting way.

 

Before you begin crafting your listing you will need to sign up to the BSNZ platform. You can do this by clicking here and completing the signup form. Once we receive your account information we will do one of two things:

 

If you are a current Chamber of Commerce Member, we will authorize your BSNZ account, so you may begin working on your profile and listing.

 

If you are not a current Chamber of Commerce member, your local Chamber will get int touch to discuss your business, your requirements, and how we can support you moving forward. You can learn more about BSNZ and the Chamber of Commerce by clicking here.

 

Once your account is authorized you will receive an email (please check your spam folders and mark our emails as safe – some servers will filter out account information) advising you of your username and how to access the platform and create your password.

 

When you have created your new password you can log in to your new Business Search NZ account. There is a sign-in button on the main menu as well.

 

Welcome to your new dashboard. This will be your home for oversight of your listing, its analytics, your bookmarked listings, and account details. We suggest you navigate to ACCOUNT DETAILS first and input your profile image and information – please note this step is not related to your business listing.

 

In the top right-hand corner, you will find a CREATE YOUR LISTING button. Click here to start building your listing. We have built a clear and simple form to assist you in inputting your information, images, and details. Please work through the form and complete each section. We suggest browsing a few existing listings to familiarize yourself with where your information and images will appear.

Here are a couple of questions to help you in crafting an impactful listing.

 

  • What are your brands’ offerings, why do you offer them, and who do you offer it to?
  • Who is your target audience, what do they come to you for?
  • How is your business different from its competitors?
  • What imagery best represents your brand and its values?

 

A note about images:
Please keep your images to under 1MB in size. We recommend making your images 1200px on the longest side and for your cover image, make it 1600px wide. You can also run your images through this great tool.

 

Once you have completed and submitted your form, we will check it over and authorize it to go live. You will be notified via email when your new listing is ready and viewable. You can review, edit, and alter your listing at any time through your user dashboard.
