Description

KJet is New Zealand’s original Jet boat ride. Based in Queenstown, we’ve been operating since 1958 and are proud to be known as the world’s first commercial Jet boat operator.

Our standard trips offer 60 minutes of unforgettable thrills, spins and exhilaration across three waterways in one of the world’s most stunning locations. Departing from the Main Town Pier every hour on the hour, our ‘Big Yellow’ Jet boats cover over 45 kilometres. We race across the serene waters of Lake Wakatipu, and onto two of the most beautiful and wildest rivers in New Zealand; the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers. In the shallow waters, our Jet boats come into their own travelling at speeds of up to 95kph in water that can be less than 5cm deep! Our experienced drivers skillfully navigate the narrow braids, and tight turns of the river while making plenty of time for our famous 360 degree spins.

Our current fleet consists of eight boats, with the largest Jet boat capacity in New Zealand. This means we can offer exclusive private charters, providing space for up to 140 people at one time.

We can tailor tours for your itinerary and to your group’s desired thrill level – from mild to wild. From standard departures at the Main Town Pier and the Frankton Marina, through to our exclusive Willows Jetty or The Rees, Matakauri Lodge, The Hilton and Doubletree Hotels, we depart from a range of jetties on Lake Wakatipu, Shotover and Kawarau Rivers.

KJet also has a mobile Jetty for special group experiences in off-the-beaten track locations such as Tucker Beach. Our large fleet allows us the creativity and flexibility to create the optimum Jet boat adventure for your guests.

As a family owned business our aim is to give everyone a memorable experience. We enjoy sharing stories and sights that only our slice of New Zealand offers.
